Night Shift Manager

The Night Shift Manager works in our distribution center and is responsible for managing floor operations on the night shift through strong on-floor presence. The DC Operations Manager is accountable for maintaining productive and cost-effective operations, ensuring employee safety, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining Union relations during the second shift. \- Oversee all Operations activities on the Night Shift \- Assist and support the DC Operations Manager \- Efficiently maintain the daily receiving, order processing, and shipping activities, as well as working down any order backlogs \- Work with and manage departmental supervisors to manage daily operations (Receiving, Picking, Packing, Shipping, etc. ), inventory control and assure optimal productivity \- Train supervisors on new and alternative methods of efficiency \- Manage employee productivity, quality assurance and work safety programs \- Work with IT and Maintenance to solve any technical or mechanical problems that may arise \- Manage manpower needs to ensure proper staffing in all departments and scheduling temporary support when needed \- Engages and motivates team members, ensuring proper training and coaching \- Open and close the building as needed Position Summary: On a daily basis, the Night Shift Manager maintains optimal shift performance through on-floor presence by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing company programs, personnel policies and operational procedures. Maintains professional and technical knowledge, as well as a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to the achievement of that vision.
