Our client is one of the most iconic home furnishing companies in the country with an upper-end collection of furniture and accessories and a growing retail division. The company’s lineage dates back to 1903 and is one of the strongest and most respected names in the furniture industry. We are seeking a full-time Vice President of Retail for Home Stores in California and Texas who has experience in upper-end retail home furnishings, with strong organizational, interpersonal, operational, and team-building skills. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for all managerial and operational aspects of 4 Stores (with plans to add more) Maintain and update (as necessary) store procedures, ensuring all tasks are performed in a timely fashion Develop a working environment and team culture that creates a differentiated positive atmosphere for all associates within the Stores Responsible for inspiring, coaching, motivating Team members to use a consultative selling approach to grow the business, develop strong new guest, and repeat client relationships Drive and maximize sales performance to consistently achieve the overall sales budget objectives while ensuring operational integrity and monitoring monthly profitability Analyze monthly store performance and reporting current trends to cover every aspect of the business including competitor performance Train and communicate current collection knowledge to all associates to ensure the Team is fully educated on brand pillars and season strategy and partner with the appropriate internal departments for product support Communicate Company set Key Performance Indicators and identify strategies to ensure performance standards are met Lead the Team to consistently establish relationships and propose local events through continuous networking and support product launches that promote high client attendance and strong sales results Proactively follow current competitors and fashion trends, industry news and new innovations in technology Oversee performance check in process for all Home Store associates and establish goals; Attract, recruit, and retain a high performing team and build a talent pipeline through networking and competitive shopping Promote brand awareness, establish market/store presence, and capture competitive market share through community outreach and company sponsored events Lead the Team on executing superior customer service and after sales experience to increase and retain customer loyalty Align with Corporate Sales Team on the best product offerings and work alongside Sales and Marketing to set strategic retail marketing initiatives and capture opportunities Analyze sales and full order cycle, providing feedback to Corporate and Home Stores Ability to manage and execute all operational and administrative tasks, including customer service, the point-of-sale system, special orders, in-home deliveries and follow-up, physical inventory supervision, employee scheduling, and overseeing the visual presentation in the Store Interface with corporate personnel in North Carolina on issues relating to accounting, inventory control, human resources and executing Company policies and procedures Cultural Requirements: Experience in managing selling or design teams Reputation for creating a high performing culture that consistently delivers results Passion for design and style, with an elevated level of taste in collaborating with affluent guests and design clients in transforming the look of their homes, providing guidance and design expertise Superior leadership skills, people skills, verbal and written communication skills and listening skills Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task, team builder Comfort level working in a collaborative team environment Ability to engage with local community to develop business relationships Ability to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and lead with confidence Qualifications: Seven (7) to Ten (10) years’ experience demonstrating success in sales management experience in retail, luxury retail, or service-related industry Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results Ability to manage competing priorities in a challenging environment Industry awareness and strong business acumen Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills Passion for the home furnishing Industry Travel required approximately 50% (percent) of the time to the Retail Home Stores and Furniture Markets Will work remotely when not travelling All Candidates must be able to provide work related references.
