Store Development Trainee

In the role of a Store Development Trainee you will be trained in every facet of managing a store successfully to prepare for eventually managing a store independently. Your tasks will include supervising daily store operations, ensuring overall store efficiency, identifying staffing requirements, handling schedules, devising operational plans, and mentoring and cultivating the team. Duties and Responsibilities of Store Development Trainee: • Required to execute duties whether or not reasonable accommodations are provided. Manages customer inquiries and secures a suitable resolution • Ensures proper store signage is maintained at all times, as well as the quality and freshness of ALDI products Assists in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates Prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels • Defining and sharing job obligations and expected performance levels with immediate reports to ensure clarity and favorable outcomes • Conducts retail meetings, identifies training and growth opportunities to help team members excel, and carries out yearly performance assessments. Qualifications of Store Development Trainee: • The minimum age requirement to apply for this job at ALDI is 18 years old • Capability to excel both individually and collectively in a professional context • Capability to supply and direct the provision of immediate and courteous customer service • - Building rapport, instilling trust, and promoting open dialogue to boost the progress and job efficiency of employees under supervision • Proficiency in interpreting and utilizing company rules and processes Proficiency in setting targets and supervising staff performance to guarantee the caliber and finalization of tasks • Being capable of appraising and motivating the performance of oneself and colleagues • Skill in comprehending and applying management strategies associated with budget management, workforce expenditures, and operational disbursements • Competence in efficiently and accurately handling transactions on a cash register • Competence in operating equipment, including electric or manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers, alongside fulfilling general cleaning responsibilities aligned with company standards • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages • Individuals with a High School Diploma or equivalent are preferred for this position • A minimum of three years of increasing responsibility within the retail industry • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Travel: Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements ALDI offers
