LEAD PRODUCT DESIGNER

They are growing and adding to their Design Team. This is not a WFH situation. There could be a hybrid of some sort, but Design needs to collaborate and be in the office. Responsibilities: Travel to line reviews and markets, meet with customers as needed Ability to lead meetings, make presentations, and pitch ideas to the management team Collaborate with the team to develop new creels for woven constructions Foster positive morale and encourage a creative working environment Research design and color trends for their brand development and project categories Communicate with factories to develop new products and constructions Execute design projects independently with minimal oversight Ability to set up collections with factories Competitive shopping required Create new designs based on design direction using Photoshop and NedGraphics Qualifications, Skills, Experience: Four-year degree in design/art-related field, (fine art, surface design, textile design, fashion design) Photoshop experience required NedGraphics experience preferred Illustrator and InDesign experience preferred PowerPoint proficient Excellent communication skills and constructive critique skills Minimum of 5 years of textile design experience Communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are key strengths Good understanding of the home furnishings industry and key accounts Good understanding of trends in area and scatter rugs Experience in digital printing, machine-made, hand-made
