ASSOCIATE, TECHNICAL DESIGNER (Soma Apparel)

This position is responsible for upholding the consistency of fit and quality through the fit-development process and written technical specifications as appropriate by Brand for assigned product styles. Works closely with Tech leaders to continually broaden technical knowledge and to elevate the quality of the product. Participates in and may lead weekly fit sessions. Supports Senior Technical Designers and Technical Designers in measuring and prepping for fit. Preferably in Fashion Design 3+ years of experience in the apparel industry is required Detail oriented with ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Understanding of garment manufacturing process is required Good understanding of fit, balance and garment construction, fabrics and fabric performance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Share required Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite is required Working knowledge of Web based applications, i.e. FLEM PLM or comparable software required Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for apparel business and ability to work effectively as a team player Knowledge of pattern software preferred (2D/3D, Optitex, CLO, Brozwear)
