Women's Wear Designer

One of our major clients is seeking maternity leave coverage for an experienced Womens RTW Designer. This role will be based in their downtown NYC offices, 3-4 days per week, reporting directly to the Design Director. What You’ll Do: • Supports the Design Team throughout the development cycle from concept to production • Responsible for creating technical CADs in Illustrator • Manage linesheet creation and maintenance, and oversight of CADs for linesheets • Support Head of Design, and cross functional partners, in creating presentations for various meetings • Supports Design Director and Head of Design with inspiration and trend research • Supports Design team with tech packs, research, and development for auxiliary products • Supports the Design team by overseeing all sketch and tech pack updates after fittings • Communicates with factory for proto sampling, mock-ups and trim requests • Works with cross functional partners on fabric and material sourcing • Intentionally translate print development into garment/CADs • Willingness to create initial sketches and set up design tech packs. • Manage multiple tasks and projects, and complete them within deadlines. • Ability to interpret team feedback into actionable design action items to internal team and factory partners • Comprehensive knowledge of apparel construction and thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
