Department of Human Ecology at Delaware State University invites applications for a Tenure Track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The primary responsibilities for this position include mentoring and teaching undergraduate courses and conducting research. Selected candidate is also expected to seek external funds to support teaching, research and extension programs; build new relationships with industry and the community; assist in curriculum development, review and improvement; participate in student recruitment and in departmental, college and university activities. Essential Functions The following are the functions essential to performing this job: • Teach apparel manufacturing, textiles, clothing design and construction courses • Provide students' skills in Geber CAD, Optitex, Photoshop and Illustrator • Teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate and graduate students. • Participate in departmental, college and university activities Required Knowledge, Skills and ability The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities: • Demonstrated experience and effectiveness teaching in Fashion Design courses • Ability to work with diverse students, faculty and families • Demonstrate ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs • Ability to work with others in a collegial teamatmosphere.
