VINTAGE THRIFT SHOP -- Gramercy Park

Confidential New Haven, Connecticut

* conscientious work ethic, initiative, ability to be productive and focused while working independently--- you’ll be pricing, tagging, and steaming clothing; organizing incoming clothing donations; organizing and maintaining the stock on the selling floor, dressing mannequins, communicating the store’s needs to our warehouse staff When we’ve hired for this position in the past, we always get a lot of responses from those who seem to envision it as a prime opportunity to get first dibs on great vintage designer clothing for themselves (or for their personal Etsy shops)-- please don’t apply if that’s your main motivation. * craft or fix-it skills: we do a lot of minor repairs, the job calls for a detail-oriented person with the ability to effectively work with their hands--be it gluing pottery or loose furniture joints, tightening screws, assembling & disassembling items, wrapping delicate objects, cleaning silver, etc. It's a very physical job that can be dirty, but it's a very fun and satisfying environment for those with an appreciation of vintage clothing & furnishings. For the foreseeable future, we will limit the number of customers who may enter at a given time, all employees and customers will wear masks, we've installed sneeze guards at our counter areas, surfaces will be disinfected multiple times daily, employee health screenings daily (screening questionnaire/ temperature check).
