Reporting to: President- DKNY Handbags Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District Responsibilities: Sales Strategy: Develops an overarching sales strategy and leads the Sales team to deliver compelling assortments that delight the DKNY Handbags customer and achieve sales and gross margin plans for all accounts; Analyzes history, competitive landscape, current market and emerging data points to support sales strategy development responsible for each account’s profitability managing markdowns, inventory and sales; Presents and sells the collection to all major accounts (Mid-tier, Big Box, Dept. Customer Engagement: Builds highly productive, long-term relationships and communicates regularly with buying offices; Conducts store visits to monitor floor spaces and visual merchandising of seasonal deliveries; Prospects, maintains and re-evaluates door distribution on a seasonal basis. Competitive Landscape: Understands competitive set, including pricing, style and key messaging and uses knowledge to make sound recommendations for the DKNY Handbags brand Financial Management: Understands retail financial metrics to analyze businesses and makes recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history & market trends; controls and manages expenses to improve bottom line and profitability Relationship Management: Engages with all key cross-functional stakeholders to communicate big ideas, key investments, strategies & special needs including daily interaction with teams to execute vision; keeps merchandising/production team and merchandise coordinators in the know on all domestic needs, selling and style trends Leadership Excellence: Serves as the voice for the DKNY Handbags on sales, current trend, forecasts, strategic opportunities and risks Leads through clear, timely, audience-specific communication and influence; Builds relationships through weekly communication and effective collaboration as a solution-oriented team leader; Motivates and mentors team members; Knows how to manage up, down and across to get results Professional Knowledge & Experience: Twelve (12) years of Director/VP level women’s sportwear sales leadership experience including: Mid-tier, Big Box and Department stores spanning brick-and-mortar, online/digital, full-price and outlet channels, required ·Handbag product category experience, a plus ·Proven ability to develop and lead and high-performance sales teams: training, development, coaching; performance counseling; attracting and recruiting ·Unshakably organized; into and on top of the right details; predictable; multi-tasker extraordinaire ·Engaging verbal and written communication and relationship management capability – superb messenger – modern communication style ·Strong analytic, retail math and financial skillset – predictable – hits the numbers – knows how to use data to drive decision-making – no surprises!
