Thrift Store Manager

Lansing Junk Removal is hiring a Store Manager for our Free, Cheap & Antique Store—a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong eye for pricing and merchandising used items, and takes ownership of both people and performance. What You’ll Do Store Operations & Leadership • Oversee day-to-day store operations, including organization, merchandising, and workflow • Lead, motivate, and hold team members accountable for performance and results • Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and—when necessary—discipline or terminate employees • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide clear, constructive feedback • Report directly to ownership with updates, metrics, insights, and recommendations Inventory, Pricing & Coordination • Coordinate closely with the junk removal team regarding incoming items • Decide which items should be kept for the store, listed online, discounted, or removed • Use online tools, marketplaces, and price-comparison resources to determine fair and competitive pricing • Price, display, and merchandise items with a strong understanding of resale value • Maintain clean, organized, and appealing sales areas to maximize customer experience What We’re Looking For • Proven experience managing people and leading teams • Strong sales mindset with the ability to hit goals and drive growth • Confident phone presence and friendly, professional communication style • Comfortable using online tools to research pricing and market value • Creative thinker who brings ideas for sales, displays, and social media • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently • Sharp eye for value—especially in secondhand, resale, or vintage items • Self-starter who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative • Have you had a management position before • Are you willing to work the specified schedule?
