Technical Illustrator / Instructions Writer

We are looking for a Technical Illustrator to create empowering sewing instructions that guide our community of over 20,000 Seamworkers through their sewing journey. Who We AreWe're Seamwork, and our purpose is to spread creativity.We create resources that help people to sew their own clothing at home, including online classes, patterns, learning tools, and a vibrant community of over 20,000 members. The MissionIn the first six months of this position, your mission will be to:• Create, layout, and publish 18 outstanding sewing instructions for new patterns.• Find opportunities to increase efficiency in the instructions creation process.• Contribute to our Illustration and Resource libraries by adding new techniques and fit solution diagrams.• Be ready to collaborate with our other teams on photo shoots and video classes, helping to adapt our instructions into exciting and inspiring scripts. Who we’re looking for:We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign• Strong knowledge of garment construction• Strong technical illustration skills• Some knowledge of pattern making helpful, but not necessary• Strong sewing background and commercial pattern experience• Fashion/apparel degree preferred• 4+ years working in an apparel or technical writer/illustrator position.
