Our client, a luxury multibrand fashion retailer, is searching for an experienced Tailor to join their team in Philadelphia! This role is 5 days onsite.Responsibilities:Fit and study garments on customers to determine required alterationsMeasure clients to ensure proper product fitSew garments, using needles and thread or sewing machinesMeasure parts such as sleeves or pant legs, and mark or pin-fold alteration linesMeasure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicatorsMake garment style changes, such as tapering pant legs, narrowing lapels, and adding or removing shoulder padsLet out or take in seams in suits and other garments to improve fitRecord required alterations and instructions on tags, and attach them to garmentsMark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying informationRemove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor bladesRepair or replace defective garment parts such as pockets, zippers, snaps, buttons, and liningsPress and smooth garments using hand ironsQualifications:5-7+ years of custom tailoring experience and strong customer serviceJackets: ability to take in sides, shorten sleeves, collars and jacketsPants: ability to hem, take in waist, seat, and crotchShirts, Blouses, Vests: ability to shorten hems and shorten sleeves from the top, take in side seams & add dartsExperience with Men’s suiting a plusMust have Saturday availability!Please submit your resume for consideration.You can use www.workgrades.com to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose.
