**WHAT IS THE JOB?**

As **Sweater Designer**, you own the design, development, and execution of Sweaters and Cut & Sew Knits for both Sid Mashburn and Ann Mashburn. You collaborate closely with the Men's VP of Design and the Women's Design Director to ensure a consistent brand aesthetic between knitwear and wovens.

You report to the EVP of Design & Product, with a dotted line to both.

**WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?**

* Design and develop the Sweater and Cut & Sew Knit categories from initial concept through marketing samples.
* Research seasonal silhouettes, color, yarns, stitches, and construction techniques to develop commercially relevant knitwear concepts.
* Develop knit swatches and stitch explorations relevant to the season.
* Create presentation boards for Design Leadership and cross-functional teams.
* Review prototypes, fittings, lab dips, and yarn approvals, providing detailed feedback to vendors and cross-functional partners.
* Collaborate closely with Technical Design throughout the product lifecycle to ensure fit, construction, and garment engineering meet design intent.
* Maintain accurate product information in PLM and an organized style library.
* Build strong factory partnerships through clear, consistent communication.
* Support a collaborative team environment, partnering across functions to solve design and development challenges.
* Adhere to the time and action calendar.

**WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS?**

* 5+ years designing sweaters for both the men's and women's markets
* Experience developing product directly with factories, concept to production
* Familiarity with Italian and Asian yarn suppliers and yarn properties
* Strong technical knowledge of stitch construction, machine capabilities, and finishing details
* Strong sketching skills, flats and illustration, plus Photoshop/Procreate CAD
* Great color sense and attention to detail
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and Excel
* Able to drive decisions with senior management and cross-functional teams
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Excellent work ethic and a passion for excellence
