Job Description Carter's, Inc. is the largest branded marketer in North America of apparel exclusively for babies and young children. The Company also owns Skip Hop, a global lifestyle brand for families with young children. As a Store Planner you can expect to work in a collaborativeenvironment on a wide range of initiatives across multiple brands developingand updating fixture plans and layouts for new stores, refreshes, remodels, andconversions. Store Plans - 60% Lead architects in development and creation of store plans Coordinate with Real Estate team with regard on required deliverables, including test fits and exterior signage renderings, for presentation at monthly Real Estate Committee Meetings Partner with Real Estate attorneys during the lease negotiations to ensure that any design information and signage requirements are incorporated into the lease prior to execution Oversee and develop fixture plan and layouts for all new stores, refreshes, remodels, expansions, co-brand conversions, high volume high capacity locations and relocations Provide technical planning and layout support to the company for new ventures Work directly with Construction Director to create and implement cost-effective design solutions Administration - 10% Support teams as needed to ensure projects meet deadlines Establish store design schedules, to ensure test fits, preliminary plans, fixture plans and final CDs are done timely and accurately Maintain and manage workflow and design milestones in a fast-paced environment Partner with Visual and Purchasing teams on equipment, displays, and design standards Oversee the maintenance of the Carters store prototypes and ensure that all documents are accurately and appropriately updated to allow for quality control and cost effectiveness Oversee construction documents, layout and details to guarantee brand specifications and requirements are implemented correctly International Responsibilities - 30% Mexico and other International Partners: Oversee standards of all new stores in Mexico and other international locations Provide test fits for locations being evaluated by the Mexico Real Estate Committee (MREC) Maintain prototypical drawings for assortment types, drawing sets, specialized fixtures, and design logic. Experience and Skills - Bachelors degree in architecture - 3 years experience and/or training with architectural firm/design firm; or retail in-house store planning department; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience with managing both the design process and developing clear & concise construction documents - Experience in workflow, keeping schedules and directing internal and external resources to manage and execute all projects effectively - Proficient PC skills, MS Word, Excel & AutoCAD - Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment - Basic knowledge of project management - Excellent management, negotiation, and communication skills - High level of attention to detail and organization - Organized, able to multitask with little or no supervision, self-motivated - Knowledge of the competition and industry - 3D Computer rendering skills a plus - Ability to lead a team of external Architects and site surveyors - Expert knowledge in development of preliminary layouts, fixture plans, (new and remodel stores), assignment drawings through full Construction Documents and Specifications - Accustomed to managing multiple concurrent assignments - Basic familiarity as it pertains to building codes, ADA codes and interior standards - Perform additional duties as assigned Carters is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
