SR. TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Women's Contemporary (Freelance, Full-Time and Part-Time)

​We are a women’s contemporary brand fashion brand based in Downtown LA. We are seeking an experienced, kind, talented and detailed oriented Sr. Tech Designer to join our team. Position available as freelance, full time and part time. Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate with fit model on weekly schedule Maintain brand's fit expectations with consistency in all catergories Identify and communicate potential construction or costing issues Fit samples through various stages of process on live fit model Ensure grade sheet is correct for each style on a timely manner Partner with factories for solutions to any issue Communicate fit comments via Excel tech pack specs, and create comments in Excel Ensure fit and grading consistency is applied across all brand categories Work with inhouse and overseas Patternmakers to resolve fit and construction challenges Support QC team to review possible quality issues prior shipping Follow up on fit samples status, parcel sending / receiving consistently Update reports with tech pack release and fit approval status continuously Work closely with production team to stay on calendar and meet key dates Work closely with design team to get initial styling/fit input and be able to send comments on all stages on a timely manner Maintain archives of Top of Production sample library in an organized manner Skills: Understanding of fit, fabric, trims, draping, patterns, print placements and layouts Must have strong patternmaking skills Proficiency in grading, tolerances and garment proportions across fabrications Strong application of Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop Great written and verbal communication both internally and to external vendors Knowledge of construction methods and standards in contemporary market Ability to identify origin of fit issues, and present options to resolve Qualities: Highly organized in a fast paced environment Strong time management and punctuality Ability to work accurately and efficiently during approaching deadlines Flexible team player with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and factories Must have great understanding of patterns and patternmaking skills Maintain positive attitude and professionalism when under pressure Experience/Education: Minimum 5-8 years experience as a fit tech designer or Patternmaker, preferably in women’s contemporary A.A. or B.A. degree in fashion related field is a preferred Salary DOE
