SPECIALIST, COMMUNICATIONS - SAKS

This position reports into the Senior Manager, Communications. Strong researching, editing and proofreading skills Above average computer skills including strong expertise with MS-Office applications University degree in Communications, English, Journalism or a related discipline or diploma or/certification in corporate communications or public relations As The Specialist, Communications, You Will Be Tasked With: Managing and executing media monitoring Developing and tracking metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of media coverage, internal communications messages and LinkedIn Assisting with the planning and execution of larger scale projects Supporting senior members of the team in working with internal stakeholders to meet their communications needs Coordinating company-wide communications to internal audiences (e.g. organizational announcements, executive team messages, business updates, weekly newsletter) Supporting cross functional teams on their internal communications needs, including counseling on communications strategy as well as editing and distributing messages Ensuring that communications advice and solutions are aligned with Saks’ corporate goals and core message platform Writing and editing materials that adapt to a variety of audiences and formats (presentations, key messages, website content and articles Supporting media relations efforts, including development of briefing documents and fact checking Researching, writing, editing and proofreading content for various types of materials including media statements, speeches/talking points, press releases, backgrounders and social content Owning communications calendar for the department - rollup of all Saks corporate, business, internal, competitor and industry activities Conducting in-depth research on issues, industry news, etc., as needed Researching on reporters/editors, summarizing for upcoming opportunities Building and maintaining database and media lists Providing real-time recaps for major company initiatives Your Life And Career At Saks: Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities, from retail to supply chain, to digital or corporate.
