Site Reliability Engineer

job description As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with other members of our Operations & Internal Tooling teams to design and deliver the platforms, tools, and processes necessary to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience in the luxury e-commerce world. Your focus will be on evaluating runtime systems, building monitoring and incident response capabilities, and automating monitoring and automatic feedback systems for our development, staging, and production systems. The company is currently in the midst of a dramatic expansion, driven by significant enhancements to its platforms and offerings, with the goal of becoming the preeminent destination for luxury internationally.Role Summary: Manage Cloud provider infrastructure, system deployments and product release operationsMonitor and evaluate Saks front-end applications, web platform, and integrations with back-end systems, respond to incidents, plan capacity, and correct and improve systems to reduce outages and customer disruptionsCollaborate with product management, software engineering, and QA teams to ensure best practices and maintain high standards for: availability, performance, data security, data privacy, and customer experienceDrive product excellence through end-to-end automation of maintenance and upgrade processes, code-driven definition of all systems improvements, and root-cause analysis of incidents and outages.Reasonable tier 2 on-call responsibilities driven by modern alerting tools, such as PagerDuty and NewRelicParticipate in the definition and refinement of effective software delivery processes such as CI / CD, TDD, development lifecycle, and architectureParticipate in the research and evaluation of emerging technologies for application in the Saks consumer experience Key Qualifications:In order to succeed in this role, you should be highly enthusiastic about technology, yet respectful and pragmatic about when and why to use specific solutions.
