SITE PRODUCT COPY WRITER

The Copywriter role is part of the Creative Marketing Team and collaborates closely with cross-channel partners including graphic designers, merchants and digital marketing teams. The Copywriter writes and supports in executing copy and content for customer-facing brand experiences including: product descriptions, site experience, email, social and marketing campaigns. This candidate should have the unique ability to think like a parent, but see the world through a kid’s eyes and find the fun in everything. Quick turnarounds will be necessary in this role and the Copywriter must be able to react creatively and decisively at a moment’s notice. Responsibilities: Key Accountabilities: Partner with Merchandising teams to write engaging and accurate descriptions for product featured on The Children’s Place and Gymboree websites Support team’s product copy process to ensure seasonal timelines are hit Craft unique messages/statements for The Children’s Place and Gymboree social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter) Work with production team to give final copy signoff on vendor proofs Partner with SEO vendor and oversee the SEO development on our site to ensure a brand-right voice Manage the creation of any Spanish/Canadian French translation needs for the website and print media when necessary Stay abreast of retail window cadence and current in-store promotions Complete copywriting, copy editing, and proofing iterations of marketing deliverables, i.e. direct mail pieces, in-store marketing, corporate communications when needed Support editorial campaigns and positioning statements into copy that can be leveraged across stores, website & emails Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field 2+ years of copywriting experience Retail industry experience preferred Must be internet savvy, particularly in ecommerce and following digital marketing trends Ability to work towards multiple deadlines with shifting priorities Skills and Behaviors: Ability to work with cross-functional partners Excellent verbal and written communication skills Solid organization and detail-oriented Excellent proofreading and research skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, InDesign, and Photoshop Knowledge of and ability to use various media channels including product management tools Must be internet savvy, particularly in ecommerce and following digital marketing trends Ability to work towards multiple deadlines with shifting priorities
