SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Women's Apparel (Freelance) (Relocation assistance provided)

Grace and Lace, a leading women's fashion brand, is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to join our dedicated team. This position plays a critical role in transforming initial design concepts into ready-to-manufacture garments. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with design and product teams to create tech packs Conduct fittings, making necessary adjustments for fit and construction Work closely with overseas factories to ensure fit adjustments Oversee the creation of detailed garment specifications Coordinate with suppliers and factories to ensure design integrity and quality Manage fit timeline to ensure products are launched on schedule Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design, specifically in women's apparel Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Illustrator Exceptional communication skills Comprehensive background in Technical Design and/or Patternmaking with extensive knowledge of fabric, garment construction and fit Ability to accurately spec garments to create detailed tech packs Take full ownership of multiple product categories, including woven tops, cut and sew knits, sweaters, and denim Leverage product feedback to establish fit consistency, determine trouble areas and implement product action plans Maintain communication with overseas and domestic factories Comment on fit samples and maintain a consistent and correct fit on all styles Conduct fittings; communicate fit issues and correction requirements to factories Create grade rules and follow through with production pipeline in timely fashion Troubleshoot possible production issues related to construction, fabrication or garment quality with a solutions-oriented mindset Organize all fit samples and seasonal production details Oversee all bulk fabric and trim approvals Ability to work with and adjust patterns for better fit.
