Senior Designer - Soft Accessories

Job Description: The Senior Designer is responsible for designing and overseeing all phases of the design and development process. From trend research to sample approvals, this individual will have the opportunity to take their ideas from concept to creation, and bring their creative passion to a fast growing and energetic company. Responsibilities Include: Research and identify emerging trends to keep pace with time sensitive designs Work closely with Sales team to understand market changes and design needs Design full collections across a variety of branded and private label brands Prepare CADs for presentation and oversee all CAD reviews with internal Sales team Ensure timely execution of all design deadlines and hand-offs, and maintain the seasonal design calendar Work closely with licensing partners at all phases of the design process and stay on top of email communication and follow-up Oversee execution of techpack creation with Design Assistant and overseas factories Review and provide constructive design feedback for sample approvals and/or changes Build collaborative relationships with all internal and external partners to ensure timely deliverables of all creative and administrative tasks Skills and Requirements: Highly organized and excellent communication skills both person and via email communication Ability to present design ideas and direction with internal and external partners and take the lead in design meetings when needed A passionate creative designer with an eye for detail and trend comprehension Understanding of pattern repeats, color stories and knit appropriate design Basic to advanced knowledge of knitwear construction and techniques Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines and expectations at all design phases Ability to take ownership of each collection and brand, and approach each design phase with dedication and passion to make it grow A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others and maintain positive relationships Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Mac computers Experience: 4-7 years of experience in Fashion Design – Athletic/Cold Weather design preferred Licensing experience a plus Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design (or equivalent work experience)
