Senior Designer Men's- Knits, Sportswear

Position Summary

The Senior Designer will contribute to a leading lifestyle brand and work closely with Design Director as well as the Technical Design, Product Development, Production, Graphic Design, and Merchandising teams to ensure that we are bringing the best design solutions to life. This role requires effective collaboration across all departments, as well as strong communication, creativity, and excellent organizational skills. This dynamic individual will articulate a clear POV on product while being considerate of brand history, identity, product strategy, and overall company goals.

Responsibilities

Ownership of men’s design in activewear and active lifestyle categoryCollaborate with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to the line, and create new conceptsConduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques and design inspirationDevelop product design ideas from concept through final garmentDevelop ideation from color, fabric, fit, trim, construction, and detailSketch design conceptsSelect fabrics and trimsCreate PLM tech packsFollow brand standards and actively evolve brand taste and qualityPresent seasonal product concepts to leadership and cross-functional teamsCommunicate with international sample room in the sample development processEnsure the product is consistent with the business strategyCommunicate and problem-solve product development issuesReview product for style and fit during fit presentationsProvide leadership and guidance within Design team including management of an Associate Designer

Qualifications

Fashion Design degree or equivalent experience5-6 years of related product design and development experienceProven design expertise within or related to men’s lifestyle apparelKnowledge of fabrications, trims, and apparel constructionProficient in Adobe Suite and ExcelProficient in PLM (Centric PLM preferred)Strong communication and leadership abilitiesEye for building timeless, quality essentials with a strong understanding of how to balance on trend fashion items
