Overview: The Senior Designer will work cross functionally with Graphic Design, Sales and Merchandising to oversee multiple design areas while facilitating the design and merchandising of apparel lines Key Accountabilities: Shop the market to research and identify current trends and present competitive data as it is related to their prospective area of responsibility to establish key objectives for the brand Work closely with Sales and Merchandising teams to conceptualize and launch clothing lines for several levels of distribution Manage the overall design process to ensure that the design team is successfully meeting business needs according to the design time and action calendar Present concept and vision in licensor, sales and retail meetings Manage and oversee the overall design process to ensure that lines are meeting the style plans, sales needs and emerging trends Ensure accuracy of tech packs and design catalog Supervise and lend feedback regarding sampling communication between sample room, Design, and cross-functional teams as needed Supervise design staff and provide direction and management throughout the design process Recruit top talent, train and develop team members Special projects as assigned Requirements Required Skills/Abilities/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design 8+ years of experience in the fashion industry (children’s wear knowledge a plus) Ability to travel as needed Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail Ability to lead and develop a team of designers at all levels Brand appropriate aesthetic Salary Description $85,000 - $110,000 per year
