SENIOR DESIGNER

We are Careismatic Brands, the global leader in medical apparel, footwear, and accessories, and we have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Designer in our hybrid corporate office in Chatsworth, California. This individual is responsible for trending, initial concept, sketching, and design development handoff to cross-functional stakeholders. Additional key functions include leading proto sample fittings, along with mentoring and training Designers and Assistant Designers for the company’s Cherokee, Dickie’s and HeartSoul brands. Responsibilities Conducting trends research by shopping apparel and competitive markets Researching and creating seasonal concept boards for styles, color, and fabrics Implementing and delivering workstreams against seasonal GTM milestone calendar Leading the Design Team, in collaboration with the Design Director, in sketching against seasonal merchandise line plan Leading and participating in design handoff meetings for seasonal newness Leading all seasonal fittings and document status Analyzing the competition for fabric and style assortments Creating seasonal VLP for presentation to house accounts and key accounts Presenting seasonal new styles in milestone and sales meetings Collaborating with Marketing and Sales to gain increased insights into customer needs, trends, branding updates, and seasonal launches Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seasonal new style creations Communicating and collaborating with Patternmaking on proto development Communicating with R&D Specialist for fabric development Creating seasonal newness in PLM system Uploading flat and technical sketches and maintaining sketch updates Utilizing Archroma color management library for seasonal newness Traveling and making presentations to selected retail customers Travelling to tradeshows and apparel shows for innovations in design Requirements At least eight years of apparel industry experience Expert knowledge of fabric, trim, and garment construction Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven skills in building, mentoring, and leading a creative team Well-organized and able to multitask in pursuing milestone objectives and driving deliverables against GTM calendar Thorough, accurate, and detail-oriented Expert proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and experience with PLM systems, Creative Suite, and Microsoft office Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field Able to travel 5% We have a friendly and team-oriented work environment along with a competitive salary and benefit package, flex schedule options, and an excellent opportunity to learn and grow.
