Senior Designer

Responsibilities: Supervise employees that analyze fashion trends and predictions Collaborate with senior management in development of the line Compares fabrics and other apparel materials integrating findings with personal tastes and knowledge of design to create new designs for target customers Provide designs that reflect the trends, but also, which reflect the integrity and aesthetics of the brand Sketches rough and detailed drawings of apparel describing factors such as design, concept, color scheme, construction, customer profile, price structure and type of material to be used Confers with and coordinates activities of workers who handle patterns and construct garments to fabricate sample garment Review samples and provide fit comments Attend fittings and communicate changes Monitor sales and retail sell-through to determine successes and failures, and to build on this knowledge for future collections Qualifications/Experience: Sweater Experience a must Bachelor’s Degree in an apparel design related field with successful experience working in a corporate design studio at the undergraduate or inter level required Minimum 5 years’ design experience Technical skill proficiency using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Web PDM design software applications Efficient time management skills to set priorities and meet multiple, and often conflicting design initiatives Self-motivation with a strong sense of personal accountability Flexibility to innovate and take design direction according to needs of the business Ability to deal with rapidly changing organizational issues and anticipate/forecast customer demand Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment Detail orientation, strong self-motivation and creative problem solving abilities Compensation The successful candidate will enjoy competitive compensation and benefits, matching 401K, Flexible Spending Plan, Paid Time Off, casual attire and company discounts.
