Sales Associate (Seasonal)

As a Sales Associate, you will be essential in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Operate, assist with, or be assigned to hazardous power‑driven machinery, including:Forklifts / powered industrial trucksMotorized pallet jacksMotorized conveyorsTrash compactors and balersPower‑driven cutting, slicing, grinding, or processing machinesAny other power‑driven equipment deemed hazardousOperate, assist with, or be assigned to conduct work involving Hot KnifeChain cutter,Other cutting instrumentsTransportation/Delivery Drive any motor vehicle as part of their jobAct as a helper on delivery or transport vehiclesHazardous Materials & Chemical Exposure Handle, mix, or directly work with: Hazardous materials (HAZMAT)Toxic, corrosive, or reactive chemicalsBattery systems or chemicals posing burn/fire/explosion riskClean up, respond to, or manage chemical spillsPerform tasks involving significant exposure to hazardous substancesHAZMAT Shipping & Logistics Activities Participate in hazardous materials shipping activities, including: Classifying hazardous materialsPreparing hazardous shipmentsSigning or certifying shipping documentsIndependently handling regulated HAZMAT processesHazardous Work Environments Work in areas where hazardous chemicals or materials are actively handled, processed, packaged, or shippedWork unsupervised in any area involving hazardous conditionsMinors under 16 are subject to significantly stricter limitations and in addition to the limitation above may not: Work in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operationsOperate a manual pallet jackPerform backroom or logistics functions involving equipment or hazardsUse a box cutter or any form of cutting instrument to open boxes or perform work.Operate any power‑driven machinery Minors under 16 years old are limited to non‑hazardous, light‑duty retail tasks, such as: Join us at West Marine and help us provide the best boating experience for our customers!  Skills: Auditing, Communication Skills, Customer Support/Service, Detail Oriented, Federal Laws and Regulations, Forklift, Grinding, Hazardous Materials/Substances, High School Diploma, Inventory Management, Lift/Move 50 Pounds, Logistics, Loss Prevention, Loyalty Programs, Needs Assessment, Organizational Skills, Pallet Jack, Physical Demands, Point of Sale (POS) Systems, Presentation/Verbal Skills, Pricing, Product Management, Product Pricing, Resolve Customer Issues, Retail, Returns Processing, Revenue Growth, Risk, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, Time Management, Warehousing, Writing Skills
