The Golden Rule Store is a family-owned and operated clothing and footwear retailer that has proudly served the Muncie community since 1926. For 100 years, we've built our reputation on quality merchandise, friendly service, and lasting relationships with our customers.

We're looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated individual who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. We're happy to provide training on our products and store procedures to someone who brings a positive attitude, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

Schedule & Availability

Our store is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. We offer consistent daytime scheduling with no evening shifts and are closed Sundays and major holidays.

This position initially offers approximately 3–4 days per week, with opportunities for additional hours as training progresses.

We work with employees to establish regular weekly schedules based on their availability and our staffing needs. Once established, schedules generally remain consistent from week to week, with occasional adjustments as needed.

Saturday availability is strongly preferred. Saturdays are an important staffing day, and most employees work approximately three Saturdays per month.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist with clothing, footwear, and accessory selections
Operate the cash register and process sales transactions
Receive, unpack, price, and restock merchandise
Keep displays, shelves, and the sales floor organized and presentable
Learn about the products and brands we carry to better assist customers
Help maintain a clean, welcoming store environment
Assist with routine housekeeping and other daily store operations
Work independently and contribute to the overall success of our small team

Previous retail or customer-facing experience is strongly preferred. We're happy to provide training on our products, brands, and store procedures, but we're looking for someone who is already comfortable interacting with customers, providing friendly service, and working in a retail environment.
