General duties include: • Accurate modeling of savings associated with initiatives driven by key business partners; including President/COO • Strategic Sourcing in pursuit of cost savings in all expense areas; has and maintains a strong understanding of industry best practices related to expense reduction • Financial Education of Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment in supporting plan or reducing expenses • Planning, directing and coordination of all accounting operational functions • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results • Preparing internal and coordinating external financial statements. • Coordinating activities of external auditors • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes, policies and procedures • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems • Leads in implementing policies, procedures, discipline, and priorities relating to financial accounting and reporting and accounts payable. Financial reporting • Compiles all related information and generates needed tools to effectively manage the company including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow, expense accruals, amortization and monthly allocation • Preparation and presentation of the company’s financial operating results Financial analysis • Performs regular and ongoing analysis of all key areas including, sales margins, inventory levels, aged inventory, store operational expenses and home office expenses • Identify opportunities for revenue growth through comprehensive analysis of core businesses • Prepares a monthly in-depth and detailed analysis of each line of the profit and loss statement • Make recommendations regarding areas needing attention • Expense control – Review, evaluate and make recommendations regarding set up process, limits, approval and verification of internal controls • Establishes procedures and systems necessary to provide adequate financial controls assuring compliance with corporate policy related to finance, accounting, as well as compliance to government reporting standards Essential Skills: An exceptional Teacher as well as a Learner; must be able to transfer knowledge where required through meeting team members at their level of capability.
