PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER / SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Our client, a Direct to Consumer Fashion Company, is seeking a Product Development Manager or Senior Product Developer to join their growing team. The Product Development Manager will work autonomously to oversee traditional PD processes and strategic sourcing initiatives. In addition, you will be leading and coaching junior Product team members to ensure ongoing skill and career development. This role will focus on driving the negotiation process to achieve costs that meet or exceed targets and understand trends in the business to effectively manage the PD cycle and report any negative trends and provide solutions to correct it. Responsibilities: Oversee product lifecycle with acute knowledge in product development processes (calendar management, timely approval, appropriate hand-offs, through to final production) Communicate daily with vendors and key stakeholders to ensure samples are accurate and deadlines are met Oversee sample tracking (raw materials and samples) to hit production and photoshoot deadlines and review for feedback before passing to Design and Merchandising Approve comments and tech packs Source, manage and test raw materials Create and maintain sample, fabric, lab dips and strike off tracking reports Lead fit sessions and communicate fit comments to factories and stakeholders Manage initial costing for import and domestic with ability to analyze and achieve margin goals Coordinate and monitor samples for fit, quality, execution and construction Create BOM’s and ensure all items are accounted for Work cross-functionally with tech and pattern to ensure garments meet fit and production standards Manage a direct report and provide support to other team members when needed Support high-priority initiatives as identified by leadership while proactively setting personal and team boundaries Spearhead sync changes with an understanding of ERP Self-starter, entrepreneurial Manage team member effectively (career path development, ongoing coaching, regular formal and informal feedback) Qualifications: 5+ years of product development experience Proficient in Office, G Suite and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus!
