Product Development Associate

RTW collection is seeking a Houston Based PD Associate. Some of the tasks that would be taken off are: • From Production: Initial costing and negotiation with the factories. Under the guidance and direction from the Production Director to meet the margin goals, PD will do the costing/negotiating of each garment based on the design detail/material/yield/make cost etc. • From Production: Fabric/trim sample yardage ordering, communicating with trim vendors/fabric mills/ftys regarding sample orders/inquiries, sample order tracking/follow up • From Production/Design: product creation in Cin7 before market • From Production/Design/Tech: Creating/maintaining WIP chart • From Tech Design: Following up with ftys with sample making related issues, tracking sample status, follow up/push ftys to ensure we meet the proto/SMS deadline • From Design: creating style assortment chart, making sure we are not missing anything • From Design: sending embellishment layouts/ print strike off & lab dip requests to ftys and follow up • From Design: fabric/trim sourcing/development and following up with vendors/mills/ftys • From Design: keeping track of development budget/invoices and make sure everything is correct and payments are made in timely manner • From Design: Create/maintain Change Log of SMS and pass off to Production to ensure all changes are applied correctly for bulk • PD will be involved more with design from the beginning. PD will be able to start counter sourcing/development of materials/fabrics that are high in price in advance so we can see options before going into bulk.
