Product Development Assistant (Fashion)

Product Development Assistant //Full-time// Onsite // Fashion experience a plus // Located in DTLA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

Swatch Books

Create 13 swatch books per showroom (NY/EU/LA) within the given timeline and calendar due dates — from cutting swatches through sending out for book bindingFlag to supervisor early if time constraints arise

Final QC & Tagging (Each Seasonal Line)

Create and attach tags for each group per season to SMSPerform final QC on each line: styling, loose threads, damages, main label, and quantityBuild out each line by season and by showroom (NY/LA/EU)Confirm all lines/units match the packing lists sent to showroomsFlag to supervisor early if time constraints arise

Press Sample Requests

Send and receive press samplesMaintain SMS line inventory on the 5th floorCoordinate with showrooms on sample returns

5th Floor Sample Storage

Keep the sample room organizedMaintain 2 years of samples on the floor; rotate older-season samples to sample saleProcess and check in each line arriving from EU/NY/LA

Sampling Line Sheets

Create sampling line sheets once line sheets receive final approvalCreate packing lists for each line sent to market (NY/LA/EU)Maintain accurate, organized records of line sheets and packing lists by season on the server

Product Development Coordinator Support

Pull and arrange lines for meetings and photoshoots as neededManage pickup and check-in back to the main floor

Technical Design Support

Assist the Technical Design team one day per weekSupport the PD team with additional tasks as needed

Skills & Requirements

2-4 years of experience in the garment/textile industrySharp attention to detail and accuracyStrong multitasking, prioritization, and time managementExcellent written and verbal communicationAbility to anticipate problems and see solutions through to resolutionSelf-motivated, self-directed, and a strong team player

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 25–35 lbs (sample boxes, line racks, swatch books)Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive motion while organizing samples and swatchesAbility to push/pull rolling racks and bins across the sample floorProlonged standing and walking throughout the workdayReasonable accommodations available in accordance with applicable law
