PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Perry Ellis International, is a fashion and lifestyle company, distributor, and licensor of a broad line of high-quality men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. We are looking for a Product Developer to be a liaison between design, tech design, merchandising, and overseas partners in our Portland office which focuses on the Nike Swim brand. The right candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the development of all trims and fabrics and ensuring all Apparel developments hit key calendar dates and gates. Concise & direct email communication with overseas LO/vendors Ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained including fabric/component detail sheets, test reports, and pricing info Maintain an in-house color standard library and send out standards as needed by overseas LO/vendors Send out lab dip requests and print artwork for development Review lab dip, trim, and print submits with design team & Gear director and advise comments/approvals in PLM and to LO/vendors Maintain PLM with job requests and up-to-date comments Work with QC and TD team to ensure new Gear, trims and fabrics are sourced to the necessary standards Attending tech sheet hand-offs for Apparel and ensuring correct fabrics and trims are being identified Participate in weekly meetings with design, merch & tech design to discuss development progress Write fabric and salesman sample POs Assist with receiving salesman samples and allocation to the global sales team Review and comment on pre-production samples Coordinate any 3rd party external prototyping Assist with special projects assigned to the Product Development team Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Product Development, Product Design, Sports Product Management or related field.
