Role Description The Personal Stylist/Sales Associate is a full-time, on-site role based at the Dillard’s store in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on delivering personalized styling services and building long-term relationships with customers, including assessing their preferences, suggesting outfits, and coordinating complete looks across apparel, shoes, and accessories. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting customers, providing product recommendations, maintaining visual standards on the sales floor, and ensuring a clean, organized fitting room and selling area. The Personal Stylist/Sales Associate will manage sales transactions, handle returns and exchanges, and support store promotions and events to drive customer engagement. The role also involves meeting individual and team sales goals, staying current on fashion trends and brand offerings, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experiences.

Qualifications

Strong customer service and client relationship skills, including the ability to listen, advise, and build trust with a diverse customer base.Demonstrated sales skills, with experience meeting or exceeding sales targets and effectively recommending products to increase overall purchase value.Interest in and knowledge of fashion trends, styling, and coordinating outfits, with an eye for fit, color, and occasion-appropriate looks.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication and professional, respectful interactions with customers and team members.Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple customers, maintain merchandising standards, and keep work areas neat.Comfort with basic point-of-sale technology, cash handling, and following store policies and procedures accurately.Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Prior retail or customer-facing experience is preferred; fashion or styling experience is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent recommended; additional training or education in fashion, merchandising, or business is beneficial.
