Part-Time Fashion Boutique Associate- P/T or F/T

December Thieves is looking for stylish, friendly and experienced Boutique Associates to join our tight knit, creative team in Beacon Hill.

We have flexibility in how we structure this role and are open to either one full-time candidate or two part-time associates whose schedules complement each other. For part-time candidates, we're ideally looking for 2–3 consistent shifts per week, with weekend availability a plus.

Please include your regular weekly availability with your application. While we're flexible on the specific days, we're looking for dependable, ongoing availability rather than schedules that change frequently. This is a year-round position, not a seasonal role.

Compensation: hourly salary + occasional merit bonuses, commuting stipend.

December Thieves is a woman-owned independent boutique on Charles Street in Boston's Beacon Hill. We specialize in intentional slow fashion, handmade jewelry, and personal and home accessories from emerging and independent designers and makers around the world.

Creating authentic connections with our designers and customers is at the heart of what we do. We're looking for energetic, thoughtful and reliable people with great personal style who enjoy working around fashion and want to be an integral part of a small, design-driven business.

This is a hands-on role that touches many parts of the business (both front and back of house). From supporting the sales team by helping style customers and pick out gifts, to fulfilling e-commerce orders, gift wrapping and keeping the shop organized and looking its best, the right person enjoys being helpful, notices what needs to be done and is equally comfortable interacting with a customer or jumping in behind the scenes.

Core Responsibilities:

Support the sales team in meeting apparel, jewelry, accessories and home sales goals
Welcome customers and provide thoughtful and personal attention on the sales floor
Assist with styling and gift recommendations as needed
Prepare and package e-commerce and in-store pickup orders
Gift wrap purchases with care and attention to detail
Help with general merchandising and product organization
Maintain the organization and presentation of the sales floor and office
Pitch in wherever needed to help the store run smoothly

You might be a great fit if you:

Have 1–2 years of independent boutique, specialty retail or strong customer-service experience
Can work a consistent schedule with weekend availability a plus
Are friendly, polished, dependable and genuinely enjoy working with people
Have an interest in fashion, jewelry, art and independent design
Have experience selling, or are excited to learn about, middle- to high-end apparel and jewelry
Have a strong eye for personal style and presentation
Are proactive and comfortable finding something that needs doing without always being asked
Are comfortable using computers and POS systems
Learn quickly and respond well to direction and feedback
Are flexible and happy to help with both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes tasks
