Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Operations Manager specializing in Retail and E-Commerce.
About the Role: We are looking for a data-driven Director of Operations to act as the strategic architect of our business. Your goal is to move us from a founder-led model to a systems-led model by creating and engineering our OTB (Open to Buy) budgets and translating inventory data into actionable sales strategies. This is not envisioned as a remote position.
Small Team Culture: While this is a high-level leadership role, we are a boutique environment. We value "ego-free" leadership—meaning you are as comfortable building an rolling P&L as you are occasionally jumping onto the sales floor during a busy day or helping the team execute a major in-store event. Strategic leader, 90 percent of the time; team player, 100 percent of the time.
About Evie Lou: Located in the heart of Cleveland, Evie Lou specializes in "luxe-casual" fashion, for women who value style, comfort and effortless sophistication.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Financial Architecture: Build and maintain seasonal Open-to-Buy (OTB) systems from scratch to regulate stock flow and protect cash flow.
Strategic Sales Partnerships: Analyze aging reports to identify slow-moving inventory and partner with Marketing to develop creative sales strategies and promotions.
Forecasting: Maintain a rolling 12-month P&L and sales forecast to guide long-term business decisions.
Systems & Efficiency: Refine the "Intake-to-Online" pipeline, ensuring goods move from delivery to the web/floor within 48 hours. Audit POS (Lightspeed) and Shopify integrations for data integrity.
Agile Team Support: Act as "All Hands on Deck" support during seasonal launches, fashion shows, and peak retail periods.
Strategic Buffer: Support the Store Manager by optimizing systems, allowing the store manager to focus on staff coaching and the customer experience.
Requirements
Financial Engineering: Proven ability to create and manage OTB budgets from a blank spreadsheet (not just monitor them).
Analytical Mindset: You enjoy finding the "story" in the numbers and briefing creative teammates on how to capitalize on it.
Boutique Sensibility: You understand the "roll up your sleeves" nature of small business and find satisfaction in the variety of daily retail life.
Tech Stack: Advanced proficiency with Shopify and Lightspeed (or similar POS system) is required.
Experience: 5+ years in a strategic operations or inventory management role.

This is a role for a strategist who wants to see the direct impact of their financial modeling on the bottom line, working alongside a creative owner who values your expertise in the science of retail so they can focus on the art.
