Performance requirements Business & Strategy Develops seasonal line plans to architect assortment that aligns to company’s financial goals and needs for the business, including but not limited to pyramid and AUC Develops and executes seasonal objectives for department or categories by coordinating with cross-functional partners. Manages in-season omni-channel business by tracking and analyzing sales information in order to identify opportunities to increase sales, improve margins, maximize inventories and decrease markdowns Product Collaborates to create compelling assortments that drive sales and margin goals while delighting the customer Understands the retail marketplace both B&M and digital and makes field connections to drive intimacy with maurices customer Awareness of relevant trends and architects seasonal testing strategy for Design to develop into. Partners with design & sourcing to cultivate vendor relationships and create a matrix with the best resources Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver consistency in execution of great profitable product that upholds our value proposition Collaboration & Development Responsible for driving cross-functional communication and motivating the team to be customer-focused, innovative, agile, and team-oriented Sets clear objectives and effectively delegates Exhibits strong negotiation and influencing skills Provides consistent coaching and development opportunities to support mastery and/or growth Positively impacts and influences others and works effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teams Acts a key omni channel liaison between design, technical design, sourcing, planning, allocation, site,  and marketing partners Champions company values and leadership principles Work Experience and education requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, retail merchandising, or fashion merchandising Experience: 5-7 years in merchant roles Skills/Traits/Personal Characteristics: Ability to identify, develop, and retain talent Strong presentation and communication skills Proficient in conflict management and problem solving Intimate understanding of competition, target customer, and brand specific fashion trends Demonstrates ability to lead and inspire with unquestionable integrity and trust Achievement oriented with strong management experience and demonstrated leadership potential Strong negotiation and influencing skills Ability to innovate change through visionary thinking Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed by department
