MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT - Maternity Leave

They will supply customer insights, competitive intelligence, and trend observations. Job Responsibilities: Business Management: 25%• Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for merchant and planning teams.• Ranks product and presents insights and recommendations by combining data analysis and customer insights from in store work, ecom and social media.• Documents monthly and quarterly product ranking and hindsights• Supports Merchant in reacting to current business trends• Works cross functionally with planning, product development, and design to ensure the on time and accurate delivery (WIP, CFT, etc).Business Operations: 25%• Responsible for taking notes and publishing for all Merchant managed vertical meetings• Manage data integrity including reconcile On Order report, preparing POs, and updating information in the system and with cross-functional partners throughout the processCross Functional Support of Product Execution: 20%• Partner with Visual on floor set placement of product to insure that all styles are represented and volume and fashion projection objectives are met.• Support the development educational and event tools for Store Operations.• Partner with Merchandising Operations to ensure data integrity• Partner with Allocation on monthly floorset meetingsAssortment Development: 10%• Responsible for creating and maintaining assortment tools including Vendor Projections, CAP, Attribute Reporting, Choice Count Sheets, eForm• Support Merchant, Planning and Allocation on promotional cadence, flow order,color/size buys, minimum /maximum quantities, etc.Sample Management: 10%• Order, track and maintain all product samples• Provide samples to business partners as needed• Prepares samples for PR and Marketing turn ins throughout the season• Responsible for submitting product for outfit guides, Ecom turn in, and push reportCompetitive Intelligence: 5%• Supports the merchant in developing a line that represents the brand through competitive intelligence and business analysis.• Patterns competitors and fashion leaders and understands how they are projecting their brand. Focuses on overall assortment, fashion offering, pricing/promotional cadence, and presentations. Reports on and uses findings/information in season and future line planningCustomer Insights: 5%• Provide the voice of the customer.• Research and anticipate what the customer wants next and why.• Gather information from working with customers in stores, trend information and historical knowledge.WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS• 1-2 years of experience in a merchandising related position for a fashion retailer preffered.• Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising, retail management or business related field preferred.• Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point, and Outlook.
