MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT

Job Description General Summary: This position assists buyers in all aspects of the buying department and supervises Merchandise Processors. Major Responsibilities: Work with the Merchandiser and DM to execute assortments for individual stores as well as unique store groupings Plan a balanced assortment by department, class, style and color while maintaining the proper mix of inventory in each store Allocate product based on store plans, profiles and merchandise assortment for new store openings Refill styles weekly by monitoring store sales, inventory and sell through by style, color and size Analyze and react to individual store performance and the performance of store groupings to identify store sales trends to better flow merchandise to stores Analyze selling by store on a seasonal basis to effect allocations and recommend future purchases Manage product flow out of the distribution center on a daily basis as well as refilling store Replenish stores based on selling information and initiating store to store transfers Review on order report so as to react to business Communicate with stores regarding merchandise flow, go forward styles and exit strategies Travel to stores Special projects as needed Other duties as assigned Specific Job Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with one year allocation or buying experience High school Diploma or Equivalent 1+ years experience in retail or related field Salary Range: The pay range of this position is $21 - $25/Hr. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate’s skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits
