Managing Director, Fashion job at BPCM. The Managing Director will be responsible for day-to-day management & development of the Fashion department and team. •Oversee clients' strategy, work closely with account leads to ensure articulation of the brand's desired image and position, and consistent communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external •Responsible for an average of 10 Fashion department team members based in NY, with potential for more •Seamlessly work with department heads of all BPCM divisions and practices to foster efficient cross-departmental communication and integration when relevant •Provide strategic direction to senior staff/clients on planning, initiatives, media relations and overall brand positioning; support team on execution of scope deliverables •Develop comprehensive media strategies with media landscape/marketing trends •Guide the team in developing a strong network with key editors/journalists across entertainment, consumer, lifestyle, business, trade and broadcast media •Possess strong network of editorial relationships with senior editors, writers and freelancers and extensive experience in brand storytelling and feature pitching •Oversee weekly, monthly, and annual wrap up reports for various clients •Draft, edit and proofread materials from press releases, blog content, pitches, fact sheets, FAQs and briefing notes, to client correspondence •Manage thought leadership platform with Senior Leadership & Department Heads •Work with Senior Leadership to maintain a new business pipeline, align on new business goals, lead new business proposals, develop strategic communications plans, identify key media targets, and create budgets •Cultivate relationships for new business opportunities with Partners and Chief of Staff •Maintain new business pipeline ensuring productivity goals are met within forecast •Manage deadlines and capabilities deck to proposal and scope of work development •Clarify new business SOW needs to determine potential team and associated fees, with consideration for team bandwidth •Negotiate new client fees and SOW structures, ensuring consensus among BPCM stakeholders ranging from Partners and Chief of Staff to SVP of Finance & Operations •Partner with BPCM Legal Counsel on MSA and SOW development and edits, project managing it through to completion •Ensure new business updates are captured in the New Business Tracker •Identify means to achieve department KPIs, utilize industry contacts to gather information, and make recommendations to Partners and Chief of Staff Requirements •Minimum of 12-15+ years of experience at a PR agency and/or in house; agency experience preferred, with experience and expertise within fashion •B.A., preferably in related fields (Marketing, PR, Communications and/or Journalism) •Ideal candidate to have extensive network of relationships with senior fashion media •Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, Agency leadership and colleagues •Team leader with ability to mentor and develop junior team members and foster a diverse, inclusive, and creative environment •Can work independently and collaboratively to contribute to agency wide brainstorms •Display high attention to detail and manage multiple project executions
