Beans brand fit standards as needed \- Ensures standards are accurately presented and effectively communicated \- Leads and participates in corporate projects to implement change \- Leverages technical expertise across other functional areas \- Travels to domestic and offshore vendors to communicate L.L.Bean standards to build relationships and resolve fit and production issuesOversees specification development process and overall effectiveness. Ensures garments are manufactured according to the standards of quality, fit, grading, and construction \- Interprets design direction and creates commercialized and final production specifications package \- Oversees preparation and distribution of specifications - works with Design to influence accuracy of technical drawings through corporate specification system \- Ensures effectiveness of specification development process \- Ensures integrity of data within corporate specification system \- Monitor and resolve fit return rate issuesLeads TD Team through transition from 2D to 3D Development and Fit process \- Represent Technical Design 3D Project Team \- Effectively lead the team through significant change \- Assist the team with new skill developmentFormulates, develops, and recommends long-term strategies and direction to ensure business goals are met \- Develops, recommends, and executes annual department plans \- Communicates and gathers buy-in to department vision \- Contributes to a team environment by providing leadership and technical expertise to Technical Designers ensuring department goals are met Manages commercialization-sampling process. Manage conformance to development timelines \- Evaluates the fit of prototype samples, attends fit sessions, and ensures that corrections are made to patterns Ensures effectiveness of fit session and viability of commercialized design \- Prioritizes sessions based on corporate timeline to meet internal and external production deadlines \- Diagnoses pattern, fit and design issues and recommend solutions Manages and monitors the Technical Design team to produce the first patterns from concepts provided by the Design organization, which accurately reflect design intent and achieve correct silhouette and fit \- Monitor the accuracy of pattern development \- Oversees development of company block patternsManages and develops the Technical Design staff \- Establishes performance objectives, appraise and reward performance, coach and develop employees through assignments, training, and regular feedback \- Resolves personnel problems by following company policies, procedures, and practices \- Reviews and update job descriptions, department structure, staffing levels and all relative records \- Takes all necessary measures to create and maintain a positive, productive, and safe work environment \- Prepares and manages assigned budget Health and Safety Requirement: Every employee is responsible for contributing to a safe and healthy workplace.
