Reebok seeks a full time Manager Material Development Footwear at our offices located at 25 Drydock Avenue, Boston, MA 02210 to oversee the materials supply chain involving research and development of new footwear innovations that support the strategic marketing and design direction to enable our commercial success. Job Responsibilities Support the related squads in presenting development plans of new and innovative material designs, and lead customization processes for new footwear material creation in the sports and classic categories; Serve as key contact and consultant for material-related questions for all internal interfaces; Identify suitable sources for new material developments and guide suppliers to translate the design vision into new, innovative materials; Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations and purchasing, to ensure availability of materials and supplies; Select and support innovation material projects, ensuring their successful technical implementation; Support engineered jacquard and knit upper projects in all aspects of development; Reduce development lead time by creating, standardizing, and implementing processes from product brief to production; Anticipate potential problems and provide professional advice and solutions for cross-functional teams regarding materials and processes; Utilize market insight to predict the future of the materials market to spread the Reebok brand name as an innovator in the field; Attend relevant supplier meetings and material shows to collect the latest information on material trends; Direct the creation of a focused material toolbox and material consolidation lists for everyday use to improve material efficiencies; and Collaborate with Far East Footwear factories to foresee and improve efficiencies of working process.
