Lead Stylist & Operations Associate – Half & Half Boutique

Join our team as we celebrate our 10th consecutive year as Buffalo Spree’s Best Established Boutique in Buffalo. At Half & Half, fashion, creativity, and community come together to create a fun, inspiring, and welcoming environment where customers leave feeling confident, styled, and excited to return.

As part of our growing brand, you will help represent a boutique with over 40 years of history in the heart of Elmwood Village. This position is ideal for someone passionate about fashion, styling, merchandising, customer relationships, and retail operations who wants hands-on experience in sales, marketing, buying, event planning, and brand growth.

We are looking for an independent, responsible, and motivated individual who can confidently work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to the overall success and presentation of the store.

Availability

The ideal candidate must have availability Tuesday–Saturday, including holidays & private events.

Employment Overview

As a Styling & Operations Associate, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting day-to-day store operations. Responsibilities include personalized styling, customer outreach, inventory management, merchandising, online order fulfillment, Shopify operations, and maintaining Half & Half’s Gold Standard presentation throughout the store.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Styling & Personal Service

Assist customers with personalized styling and create complete outfits
Introduce brand collections and provide guidance on sizing, color, and event-specific looks
Support guests with special orders and maintain ongoing customer relationships to create a VIP-level experience
Build strong customer relationships through excellent communication and service

Customer Outreach & Brand Support

Contact returning and loyal guests regarding new arrivals, promotions, and curated looks
Assist with social media content, product features, styling inspiration, and store event promotion
Contribute ideas for photoshoots, in-store events, and off-site fashion shows

Sales & Shopify POS Management

Process sales, returns, exchanges, and online orders accurately
Manage online pickups, shipped orders, and ship-to-customer requests
Follow and professionally communicate Half & Half’s return policy
Use strong selling skills to support both in-store and online sales goals

Inventory & Merchandising

Receive, ticket, and merchandise new inventory according to Half & Half’s Gold Standard
Verify merchandise against Shopify purchase orders including quantity, size, and style
Assist with Shopify markdowns and collection organization to ensure website accuracy
Merchandise items neatly and accurately throughout the sales floor
Maintain knowledge of current products, collections, and trends

Operations & Back-End Support

Assist with Shopify back-end operations including markdowns and collection management
Send invoices for special orders and communicate customer requests with management
Coordinate daily with management regarding events, special orders, and store priorities
Support overall store operations while acting as a professional and welcoming face of the brand
Maintain proficiency with Shopify POS and back-end systems

Gold Standard Store Presentation

Maintain visual merchandising, organization, and cleanliness throughout the store
Ensure clothing and displays meet presentation standards including properly fastened buttons, zipped garments, tucked tags, evenly spaced hangers, and protected delicate fabrics
Help maintain a polished and elevated shopping environment at all times

Store Operations Support

Assist with opening and closing store procedures
Handle cash responsibly and support smooth daily operations
Work independently while also collaborating closely with the team and Store Manager

Qualifications

Previous retail experience preferred
Passion for fashion, styling, merchandising, and customer service
Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented personality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Social media savvy and comfortable creating content
Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
Flexible schedule with weekend availability required
