Junior Garment Technician

American Attitudes, located in New York in the heart of the garment center, is a fast-paced leading women’s apparel company with multiple kids, junior, missy, extended sized brands, and licensed collaborations. We are looking for a JUNIOR Garment Technician to support our rapidly growing and fast-paced company. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver, an excellent communicator, highly organized and detail oriented. This position has high growth potential for the right candidate! Responsibilities include but not limited to- will be assisting SENIOR Garment Technician Measure and inspect all samples received- proto through TOP Participate in weekly fit sessions, making recommendations for fit and construction issues as well as taking notes from the team during each session Create technical packages with detailed photos, illustrations, pattern corrections and updated measurement spec sheets Sending reference and fit sample comments to overseas factories/vendors Daily communication with overseas office & factories/vendors Work closely with the merchandising, production & design team on technical construction or fit issues Participate in style and fit approval process with overseas team to meet all deadlines and address all issues with the team to ensure timely resolution Assist in organizing and prioritizing workload according to delivery schedules Keep track of all fit samples- organized by customer & sample type Prepare fit list and garments before each fit session assist in preparing samples to send out to customers Qualifications- Apparel related Associate's or Bachelor’s degree Minimum 3-5 years Technical Design experience (MIDLEVEL Technical Designer) Technical experience with sweater garments, and cut and sew experience is a plus Technical Design experience in sweaters preferred Experience working with overseas factories and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively and accurately Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, must be able to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize Ability to work collaboratively and independently Must have knowledge of garment construction, fit standards and understanding of pattern making, grading rules and specification packages Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Suite- Specifically Excel & Outlook Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Acrobat Previous TechPacker or any PLM system program knowledge is a plus Must be able to work in the office 5 days a week
