Junior Apparel Designer

In this role, you will assist in the development of innovative fashion designs and contribute to various projects within our fashion retail environment. Position Overview: The Junior Apparel Designer will support the design team across all aspects of product creation, from concept development to sample tracking and tech pack creation. This role requires a sharp eye for color, a strong understanding of garment construction, and the ability to manage multiple projects both collaboratively and independently. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the development of seasonal collections, including organizing and tracking samples throughout the design and production process • Review samples, strike-offs (S/O), and lab dips (L/D) for accuracy and design intent • Confidently match and coordinate colors across styles, trims, and fabrics • Maintain and manage a well-organized sample library, fabric archive, and trim references • Create and edit product mockups using Adobe Illustrator • Develop detailed tech packs including flat sketches, construction details, measurements, and fabric/trim specifications • Plan and style photoshoot outfits that align with brand vision and seasonal direction • Support sample planning, tracking, and communication with vendors and cross-functional teams • Work independently on a variety of design projects while contributing to overall team objectives • Collaborate with a close-knit design team, sharing feedback and creative ideas throughout the process Qualifications: • 1–2 years of experience in apparel design (internships or entry-level work considered) • Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and manufacturing processes • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple projects • Confident in color theory and color matching • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop and Excel are a plus) • Experience creating and editing product mockups • Able to create detailed tech packs with accuracy and consistency • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through • Passion for the apparel industry and working in a collaborative, creative environment
