Role Description The Head of Human Resources is a full-time, on-site role based in Augusta, GA, responsible for leading all HR functions and people-related initiatives across The Swank Company, Posh Tots, and Escape Outdoors. This role oversees HR strategy, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention for team members at both store locations and the e-commerce operation. The Head of Human Resources develops, implements, and updates HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws and alignment with the company’s culture and values. Day-to-day tasks include advising leadership on HR matters, managing employee relations, handling performance and disciplinary processes, coordinating training and development, and supporting compensation and benefits programs. The role also focuses on fostering an inclusive, engaging work environment that supports high levels of employee satisfaction and alignment with the company’s customer-centered mission.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including leading HR operations in a retail or customer-focused environment.Strong knowledge of Labor and Employment Law and HR Policies, with experience ensuring legal compliance and maintaining up-to-date, practical HR guidelines.Proven ability to manage Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture.Experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, and training, with the ability to support multi-location staffing needs and evolving business requirements.Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build trust across all levels of the organization.Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced retail environment and collaborating closely with store leadership and company owners.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is required.Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
