Head Fashion Designer Job Description The Head Fashion Designer will manage all aspects of garment development for D’IYANU which includes creating new design concepts for each collection, managing print selection, and tech pack creation. Head Technical Fashion Designer Responsibilities: Research trends and create mood boards and design concepts for new collections Lead and schedule design meetings which includes creating meeting agendas and presenting new collection concepts to team Sketch design concepts in Illustrator Research construction and create techpacks with assistance from technical designer and assistant designer Collaborate with the production team on fabric and trims needed for final products and assist in managing our trim and fabric quality library Create and/or assist print designers in creating artwork Communicate fabric strike off and construction feedback to vendors Quality control photo shoot samples and bulk products Study and understand D’IYANU customer needs Assist technical designer in conducting fittings Create line sheet along with help from assistant designer Manage PLM system with assistant designer Adhere and keep track of production calendar deadlines Requirements A fashion degree along with at least 5 years experience working as a designer for a fashion brand Must be skilled in making tech packs, conducting fittings and possess strong knowledge of garment construction Must be able to show example of previous work Knowledgeable of various types of fabric Meticulous with details and driven by the technical aspect of the design process Proficient in Adobe Illustrator Possess strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Possess the ability to adapt to a fast paced environment as well as adjust to ever changing priorities Must have a positive and can-do attitude
