Position: New Haven - Store Warehouse - Shwrm Whse Asst POSITION SUMMARY: Selects and moves merchandise in warehouse racks and on the showroom. Prepares for transport, loads, and secures merchandise into customers' vehicles. Responsible for maintenance of showroom and merchandise. Schedule: Week 1: Monday - Friday 7:30 ,with pick up dates Wednesday, Friday ,Saturday 8:30am-5pm Off days will be (Saturday, Sunday) Week 2: Tuesday - Saturday 7am-3:30pm with pick up dates Wednesday, Friday , Saturday 8:30-5pm Off days will be (Monday, Sunday) Week 2: Tuesday - Saturday 7am-3:30pm with pick up dates Wednesday, Friday , Saturday 8:30-5pm With this week the off days will be (Monday, Sunday ) ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Removes/wraps/prepares showroom merchandise for customer pick-up ● Provide a high level of service for customers in the store or picking up merchandise ● Uses hand tools to make minor repairs to damaged merchandise in the warehouse and on the floor ● Operates Crown Lift to move and transfer merchandise ● May drive company vehicles and deliver merchandise to customer homes and other store locations as needed ● Performs all aspects of showroom maintenance (Lighting, tightening of legs/knobs/handles/chairs, furniture repair) ● Receives all incoming shipments (Shuttles from Distribution Center, bedding, frames, vendors, pillows, rug pads, and accessories) Identifies, tags, and scans merchandise ● Assists Store Designers, Showroom Warehouse Supervisor and Showroom Warehouse Team Leader with delivery and set-up of new merchandise (including rugs) to the showroom floor ● Opens and inspects merchandise to verify accuracy/match to paperwork/tablet ● Using warehouse management system to research and locate merchandise ● Uses and maintains tools and equipment in accordance with the company and OSHA safety standards ● Any other function or responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor EDUCATION: High School SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: ● 0-6 months of related experience or equivalent education ● Must be able to solely and safely lift and move materials up to 110 lbs. ● Must be able to operate machinery up to heights of 35 to 40 feet ● Must have strong customer relations and communication skills ● Ability to multitask ● Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English
