About the Job We are seeking a dedicated and innovative instructor to join our apparel design team at Minnesota State. As a full-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching college-level courses in apparel design, developing and revising courses and instructional materials, participating in student assessment, collaborating with colleagues in the apparel design department, engaging in the college community, and committing to providing quality instruction and services to a diverse student population. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality instruction to students from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities • Teach college-level courses in apparel design, including garment construction, pattern development, industrial sewing methods, fashion imaging, and advanced garment construction • Develop and revise courses and instructional materials to meet the evolving needs of our students and industry partners • Participate in student assessment, including evaluating student learning outcomes at the course, department, and college general education levels • Collaborate with colleagues in the apparel design department to develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials • Engage in the college community through committee work and interdepartmental collaboration • Commit to providing quality instruction and services to a diverse student population Qualifications Education Requirement: Associate degree in apparel design, fashion design, clothing design, or textiles and clothing Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in apparel design, pattern making, and production Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
