Job Title: Freelance Fabric Associate Start: ASAPLocation: NYC (onsite Monday-Friday)FT Hours Pay Rate: $25-$28/hour DOP• Communicate production and materials technical quality standards to mills & factories.• Review and approve all fabric-shipping samples for the division assigned. This includes but not limited to: lab-dips, handlooms, strike-off and final bulk cut review.• Offer expertise on fabric construction, component/fabric innovation and technical aspects to internal team, suppliers and factories.• Regular communication/touch bases with management to review issues, challenges and directives as it relates to all fabric facets of the product.• Analyze fabric test reports to ensure company guideline/standards are met and send approval comments.• Daily updating, maintaining of the fabric development and bulk fabric WIP charts.• Organization and maintenance of fabric qualities in fabric library in respective area.• Assist both Sr. Sourcing Director and Design to initiate and drive fabric adoption process.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in textiles or design or equivalent experience preferred• Experience in fabric adoption and quality control process within a product lifecycle.• Very detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills• Clear understanding of general fabric development and quality processes.• Solid fabric construction knowledge across a specialized area (i.e. woven, knit, yearn, trim) and general fabric construction understanding across woven and knits• Clear understanding of dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques
