Role Summary
------------
FP Movement is looking for a Home Office Merchandiser who is responsible for translating the company’s seasonal business strategies, product vision, and key buys into cohesive and commercially compelling store presentations. Acting as the critical connection between **Buying, Planning, Allocation, Visual, Marketing, and Store Teams**, this role ensures the right product, in the right color, style, and quantity, is presented in stores
The Merchandiser combines a strong understanding of the customer, product, brand, and business performance to develop seasonal concepts, curate store assortments, communicate visual direction, and continuously optimize the store experience.
Role Responsibilities

• Partnering with Buying, Planning & Allocation• Serve as the primary merchandising partner to Buying, Planning, and Allocation, connecting product strategies to store execution.• Partner with Buyers to understand key buys, seasonal priorities, product stories, and business objectives.• Work closely with Planning and Allocation to understand inventory, sales performance, store capacity, and assortment needs.• Participate in monthly buy and assortment review meetings to understand upcoming product and determine merchandising opportunities.• Provide input into where and how assortments should be distributed and presented across stores.• Ensure key products and strategic buys receive appropriate placement and visibility.• Collaborate with Allocation to ensure stores have the product needed to execute the intended merchandising strategy.
• Merchandising Strategy & Concept Development• Develop seasonal and monthly merchandising concepts that bring the brand vision and business strategy to life in stores.• Build concepts approximately two months ahead of execution to allow for planning, product availability, communication, and store execution.• Curate product assortments for each merchandising presentation, fixture, or “bubble.”• Determine product hierarchy, color stories, category flow, styling, and placement.• Translate top buys and key business initiatives into compelling and easy-to-execute store presentations.• Balance creative brand expression with commercial priorities and sales opportunities.• Maintain a consistent point of view across stores while considering differences in store size, customer, and assortment.
• Visual Direction• Create and communicate monthly merchandising direction for internal Home Office partners and Store Teams.• Establish clear visual direction around product placement, styling, color, outfitting, and key stories.• Review upcoming assortments to ensure the right combination of styles, colors, categories, and key items is represented.• Evaluate the effectiveness of visual strategies and adjust direction based on business performance.• Ensure all merchandising direction supports the overall brand aesthetic.
• Store Communication & Field Partnership• Own the monthly communication of merchandising updates to Store Teams.• Translate Home Office strategies into clear, concise, and actionable direction for the field.• Communicate upcoming initiatives, product priorities, merchandising changes, and execution expectations.• Partner consistently with Field Teams to understand store feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.• Serve as a key Home Office resource for stores, helping teams understand the “why” behind merchandising direction.• Partner with Store Allocation to ensure Store Teams feel supported and have the tools and product necessary for successful execution.
• Marketing, Signage & Editorial Coordination• Partner with Graphic Design and Marketing to coordinate in-store signage, marketing materials, and editorial needs.• Manage timelines to ensure marketing materials are ordered, produced, and delivered to stores on time.• Ensure signage and marketing support the overall merchandising strategy and seasonal storytelling.• Partner with the Direct team ahead of new editorial deliveries to coordinate key retail looks and product stories for photography.• Identify priority products and outfitting opportunities that should be represented in editorial and marketing content.
• Business & Performance Analysis• Review weekly sales and business performance to understand how product and merchandising strategies are performing.• Monitor key categories, products, colors, and presentations to identify opportunities and challenges.• Use business insights to make informed merchandising decisions and recommendations.• Identify underperforming product and partner with Buying, Planning, and Allocation to develop appropriate strategies.• Pivot store merchandising direction based on sales performance, inventory levels, customer response, and business needs.• Connect business results back to future merchandising concepts and assortment decisions.• Balance creative vision with a strong understanding of the financial and commercial impact of merchandising decisions.
• Brand Consistency• Ensure product presentation, styling, color stories, signage, and visual communication reflect the brand’s overall identity.• Ensure Home Office teams and Store Teams are aligned on the brand’s seasonal vision and execution standards.• Continuously look for opportunities to elevate the presentation of the brand and strengthen the customer experience.

Role Qualifications

* #### 3+ years of experience in merchandising, visual merchandising, buying, planning, or a related retail discipline.
* #### Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles, product assortment, and store presentation.
* #### Ability to interpret sales and inventory data and translate insights into actionable merchandising strategies.
* #### Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple seasonal and monthly initiatives simultaneously.
* #### Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* #### Strong eye for product, styling, color, and brand presentation.
* #### Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and influence partners at all levels.
* #### Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
* #### Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant merchandising and presentation tools.
* #### The role requires strong communication, organization, collaboration, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners while keeping the customer, brand, and business at the center of decision-making.
