What You'll Do
As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or Embroidery to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across NYC. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.
As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:
Develop age-appropriate Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or Embroidery curriculum for after-school studentsLead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertiseEstablish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engagedFoster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levelsBuild connections with students in a warm and inclusive environmentTrack student growth and offer positive, helpful feedbackArrive prepared, on time, and ready to teachCreate a memorable experience for the children in your class
Who You Are
A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:
Has subject matter expertise in Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or EmbroideryHas a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kidsHas excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learningKnows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environmentBrings your own voice and creativity to each class you teachIs cooperative, supportive, flexibleIs dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations

Assistants in the Togetherhood network are paid per class. Most classes are one hour. This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work.
